When we’ll sing again…

To our singers, audience, and all choral music lovers:

We grieve our inability to be, and sing, and listen together at this time. We long for the return to a physical community, sharing in this art form that we love. Our hearts go out to our friends and colleagues, the Skagit Valley Chorale, and their director, Adam Burdick, for their tragic losses to COVID-19.

In response to this crisis:

  • We will hold our singers’ and audience’s wellbeing as our ultimate concern.
  • Acknowledging that singers are super-spreaders, we will adhere to Gov. Inslee’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order and to “Safe Start,” Washington’s phased reopening plan, but we will proceed with additional caution beyond the state’s plan. This likely means waiting for the availability of a vaccine and for our members to have received it.
  • While it is therefore unlikely we will be able to offer a 2020-2021 concert season, we will be ready to respond, should a vaccine become available sooner versus later.
  • We will update this policy as the pandemic evolves.
  • We will continue to meet virtually as an ensemble.
  • We will strive for greater connection with our audience and supporters.
  • We will anxiously await seeing each other and all of our followers, at some point in our 2021-2022 season.

In hope and solidarity,

The Seattle Bach Choir Board
