SUMMARY:Gods
DESCRIPTION:Beloved in Sweden\, but seldom heard in the US\, Lars-Erik Larsson’s A God Disguised comprises the centerpiece of this program. The cantata tells the story of an episode in the life of the god Apollo\, when for a short time he lived on earth as a shepherd. Another shepherd-god is the focus of Vaughan Williams’ dramatic Five Mystical Songs\, also heard on this program.

SUMMARY:Day
DESCRIPTION:Linda Kachelmeier\n\n\n\n\n\nWhen Martin Luther wrote about liturgy\, he identified or composed German chorales that could be used to substitute for parts of the Latin Mass. Settings of some these surround a work we’ve commissioned to celebrate our 40th anniversary—“We All Believe in One True God” by Minnesota composer Linda Kachelmeier. Our namesake’s Mass in G will also be featured.
