About the Work
At approximately 70 minutes, Ein deutsches Requiem is Brahms’s largest work. We will use the piano four-hands version, first performed at the 1871 London premiere and long favored for both public and private performances.
Venue
Faith Lutheran Church, longtime musical home of the late Nan Beth Walton, former Director of Music at the church and a leader of the Seattle Bach Choir. The church now features a 9-foot Grotrian-Steinweg concert grand piano, an instrument ideally suited to this music.
